FAQs
Lip Blushing
What is lip blushing?
Lip blushing is a semi-permanent makeup technique that involves tattooing the lips to add colour and definition. It can enhance the natural appearance of the lips by adding a tint of colour and improving their shape.
Will it hurt?
A topical numbing cream is used so pain is very minimal. My clients usually rate any discomfort at about 2-3 out of 10, if that. Some clients have fallen asleep during treatments.
How long does Lip Blushing last?
Cosmetic tattoo treatments are semi-permanent which means they will fade over time usually 1-2 years. There are many factors that can determine the life of your tattoo. Colour, intensity, skin, age and lifestyle. A touch up is recommended every 12 – 24 months if needed.
What is the downtime?
Some people experience minor swelling, minor bruising and or redness immediately after which can last up to 12 hours however this can be so minimal that most clients feel comfortable enough to return to work immediately after.
Healing Process:
Day 1 – Swelling & Tenderness, also high colour intensityDay 2 – Swelling Subsides, Dryness starts and colour appears darkerDay 3/4 – Scabbing, Peeling and extreme drynessDay 5/6 – Peeling can continue and colour will lightenDay 7 to 21 – Ghosting - colour will disappear (this is completely normal)Day 21 onwards – Colour will come back and settle into it’s true colour6 Weeks – Perfection appointment (otherwise known as a touch up)If needed we can make some changes to colour and saturation to ensure you are happy with your new lips. *PLEASE NOTE – more touch ups may be required for lip neutralisation this will be discussed in the pre treatment consultation.
Aftercare
- No heavy sweating for 24 hours
- Avoid Hot & Spicy food for 24 hours
- No sun or swimming for 2 weeks (Where a hat and SPF lip care if unavoidable)
- Frequently apply aftercare ointment every 3-4 hrs or as needed for the following 7 days
Please be aware: Cold Sores
If you have ever suffered from a cold sore, there is a 99.9% chance you will have an outbreak after any cosmetic tattoo lip treatment. To minimise the risk of an outbreak it is recommended to take prescription antivirals 7 days prior and following your treatment.

FINE LINE TATTOOS
What is Fineline Tattoo?
A fine line tattoo is a subtle, delicate, and thin tattoo. Fine line tattooing uses small needles (often a single needle) to create thin, delicate and intricate tattoos in a customizable way to express individuality, commemorate special moments, or display personal sentiments. Fineline tattoos often feature detailed and precise linework, resulting in a subtle and elegant appearance. The use of fine needles to create these thin lines allows for intricate patterns, geometric designs, or minimalist artwork Including Tiny Tattoos. These tattoos can be incredibly detailed despite their minimalistic appearance, and they tend to age well due to their precise nature.
Does it hurt?
Fineline tattoo’s are not completely painless, The good news is they hurt considerably less than a traditional tattoo due to the use of smaller finer needles. Body placement can also influence discomfort during your appointment.
Aftercare
- Avoid strenuous activities and sweating for 48hrs
- No direct sunlight and try to keep covered if out in the sun for longer periods of time
- Use a moisturizer 3-4 times a day, I recommend Bepanthen
- Clean gently with luke warm water and gentle antibacterial soap then pat dry with a paper towel. (Do not shave over the tattoo until it is completely healed)
- Don’t scratch or pick scabbing or dry skin this can interrupt the healing process and/or final result of the tattoo
